Module Outline
This module provides a foundation to the study of development at Sussex,
by drawing on first-hand research experiences of faculty at Sussex, the world’s number one
for International Development. Each week, a different Sussex lecturer will tell you how they
have engaged with development, introducing different concepts and ideas that draw closely
on their own research and discussing real places and real issues. Students will be introduced
to a diversity of approaches to defining and understanding developement.
Module learning outcomes
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of key concepts and ideas in
international development.
Develop the ability to critically analyse and evaluate literature relating to
different areas of development.
