Full Module Description

Students will gain knowledge in developmental models and relevant legislation policy and frameworks associated with working with CYP mental healthcare. Students will also be introduced to concepts in the therapeutic relationship and group processes relevant to CYP.

Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and critical awareness of concepts of mental health and mental illness for CYP

Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and critical awareness of diagnostic category systems in mental health

Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and critical awareness of a range of social, medical and psychological explanatory models

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant mental health policy and health and social care legislation
