Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Athena Swan

The 5X社区视频 holds an Athena Swan Institutional Bronze award alongside School level awards for all of our STEMM Schools. Our aim is for all Schools to hold an Athena Swan award by 2025.

The Athena Swan Charter was established in 2005 to encourage and recognise commitment to advancing the careers of women in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) in higher education and research. Since 2015, the Charter has expanded to include arts, humanities, social sciences, business and law (AHSSBL), and now promotes a more inclusive approach to gender equality. It recognises the importance of supporting people of all genders and addressing how gender intersects with other factors such as ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, and caring responsibilities.

On 30 June 2021, Advance HE relaunched the Athena Swan Charter, introducing updated principles and changes to the application and renewal processes. The 5X社区视频 is a signatory to the revised Charter and has committed to its new principles. You can view our letter of commitment here: Athena Swan Charter Principles [PDF 112.27KB]
