Music-making is a widely shared human experience going back at least 35,000 years. But why do people make music together? What are the benefits of music-making in ensembles from cultural, scientific, psychological, educational and political perspectives?

Explore these questions through interactive lectures on the benefits of music-making in groups, and a wide range of ensemble case studies. Take part in music ensemble practical workshops and write a reflective report.

You need to have an interest in actively taking part in music ensemble workshops, but you can be a beginner musician.
