Suitability for professional practice procedure

The 5XÉçÇøÊÓƵ has a duty to ensure that a student is ‘suitable for professional practice’, where the course includes practical training in a professional role and the award of a degree from the 5XÉçÇøÊÓƵ enables a student to register with an associated Professional, Statutory or Regulatory Body (PSRB).

This 5XÉçÇøÊÓƵ procedure is designed to ensure that there are appropriate processes in place to consider any issues that arise across the 5XÉçÇøÊÓƵ related to a student’s suitability to practice in a professional setting. Such a procedure will be required by Professional, Statutory Regulatory Bodies (PSRBs) associated with courses provided by the 5XÉçÇøÊÓƵ. Some Faculties have their own procedure in place that meets the requirements of the relevant PSRB. This Suitability for professional practice procedure (2025-26) is designed for Faculties that own courses that are, or will be, accredited by a PSRB, where a Faculty policy is not in place.
