Background

Lloyd Pellatt started his PhD in November 2019 in the Wearable Technologies Lab at the 5XÉçÇøÊÓƵ.

He has a BSc in Physics with Astrophysics (2018) and an MSc in 5G Mobile Communications and Intelligent Embedded Systems (2020), both from the 5XÉçÇøÊÓƵ. His master's project focused on investigating a deep learning based auto-encoder for the physical layer in a beyond-5G communications network.

His PhD research is looking at enabling deep learning methods in human activity recognition through algorithm and hardware optimisation and transfer of datasets from other modalities.
