Course learning outcomes

Articulate understanding of sustainability and sustainable development practices in relation to the complex interactions between societies and environments

Show critical insight into how issues of climate justice are shaped by complex relationships between societies, economies and environments in a range of contexts

Critique problems of climate justice, sustainability and development in relation to how these are shaped by the colonial past and legacies of colonialism in the present

Critically appraise diverse approaches to generating knowledge about climate justice, sustainability and development with reference to the context in which that knowledge is generated

Synthesize complex information by interpreting sources (whether written, audio, video or otherwise) in relation to their social, historical and theoretical contexts

Assess and analyse the ethical and methodological implications of research design in order to plan original research in light of these assessments

Communicate ideas, theories and principles related to climate justice, sustainability and development coherently and via a range of media to both specialist and nonspecialist audiences

Direct and manage their own learning and development to consolidate and develop knowledge'

Work creatively and productively with diverse groups, within and beyond the 5XÉçÇøÊÓÆµ, to apply learning from across the course to addressing a range of challenges related to climate justice, sustainability & development

Formulate responses to new relevant challenges and problems encountered within and beyond the 5XÉçÇøÊÓÆµ by drawing on learning from across the course.
